Tim had the day off yesterday which was perfect because I had to sign Reagan up for preschool and Monday was the first day it was open to the public and as of last week there was 1 spot left. So I got up at 6:30am put on my jeans and a sweatshirt, stopped by Starbucks and went to the school to wait. The lady who let me in said, "you do know you will be waiting for an hour?" I said, "yes, there is only one spot left and we need it." So I read my times magazine and not after too long another lady showed up and then a couple of more and most wanted my slot, so I'm glad I got there early. We got the spot and it was worth it, its a very good school, the lady next in line after me is a public school teacher, so that should tell you something.
The things we do for our children.

Sleepless in Seattle

We went to Seattle this weekend to visit family. We stayed at the Grand Hyatt, it was wonderful except that Lincoln started showing signs of an ear infection and I know the signs, 5 ear infections in 5 months....I know the signs. So after only staying one night we packed our things up and came home and went straight to the ER where guess what......he has an ear infection. By the way the Grand Hyatt was wonderful, they waived the early check out fee because of a sick child, and in the room it was a real crib with Johnson and Johnson baby travel pack, rubber duckie, nice baby blanket, and baby towels, it was great...I can't wait to go back. I must go back because I didn't get to take a bath in the huge tub, I must go back soon. You know the sad thing about the ear infection.....we saw the ENT on Wednesday and he didn't have an ear infection and last Sunday was the last day of antibiotics for his last ear infection, he can't get tubes fast enough. I feel so bad for my little guy, I just want him feeling better.

Lincoln did great

Lincoln did great and so did Reagan while we were gone. I on the other hand had growing pains that couldn't be ignored by Sunday night. So I fed Lincoln before bed and that made a huge difference for me, I didn't nurse him this morning, so I think I will keep it him to nursing just at bedtime then gradually stop.
Last night we had Lincoln's first birthday party with our extended family. He was a real trooper and stuck his face right into his piece of the cake and loved it. He got lots of boy things which is great because we have lots of pink in this house from his sister.
I will post picture's later.
This weekend we are making a trip to Seattle with Tim's family to see extended family from NY.

This is it!

This morning was the last time I will be nursing my son. He is 1 years old next week and this weekend we are going on a couples retreat with our church....(no kids). This will be the first time in a year that I went away without Lincoln. He refused bottles, it didn't matter if it was breast milk, or formula, or cow milk....he hates bottles. He will now take a sippy cup with milk, not breast milk but cows milk. I am sad that we are done but at the same time I'm extremely happy for this Independence we will both now have. Lincoln will be going to my mother-in-laws and Reagan will be going to my mothers. I'm excited about getting away with my husband and doing things that don't involve wiping a child's butt, going to dinner without needing a high chair or having to walk around while my husband eats then he walks around and so on and so on. I have earned this weekend and it will be fun, I know it.
Lincoln will be fine, he eats more table food than breast milk and I only was nursing him once in the morning and once at night.
Now I just need to drop off Lincoln after he wakes up, clean the house, pack, buy some food for the retreat and then wait for Tim to get home.
Have a great weekend everyone :)

Mom.....what's for dinner?

1 lb. Beef Stir Fry meat cut into strips
some cloves of garlic minced
1 package of fresh mushrooms sliced
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup of water or sherry
1 envelope of onion soup mix
1 pt. sour cream

12 oz egg noddles

Brown meat, add garlic and mushroom towards the end of browning the meat. After browned add cream of mushroom soup, water, and onion soup mix. Cover and cook on low for 1 hour. Add sour cream just before you mix with cooked drained noodles.

This dish can also be made in a crockpot and sour cream just before serving.

So the first picture on the top left is the meat, garlic, and mushrooms, the picture on the right is just after I added the cream of mushroom soup, water, and onion soup mix. The plated picture is the final product with salad and broccoli. It tastes a lot better than it looks...trust me.

Lincoln has an ear infection, his 4th ear infection in 5 months. Our doctor referred us to an ENT and he has an appointment/evaluation on the 21st. Reagan just had her adenoids just taken out in November with the same ENT so we pretty much know the drill. This time the ear infection was so bad that he had green goo oozing from his left eye...it looked like a runny nose but from his eye. Then the next morning his eye was glued shut and all swollen, poor guy. He is doing much better today, my Mom came and got Reagan for the afternoon and Lincoln and I are going to go run some errands after he wakes up.
Part of me feels like why does he keep getting ear infections, I have breastfeed him this entire time, the first time he was ever sick was with the first ear infection back in October. I hope tubes will be the answer because it hurts when your kids are sick.
Our daughter has had a couple of falls and the result was she bit through her lower lip right on the part that meets the face skin, where lip liner would go. So this requires a visit to the plastic surgeon, and she is pretty much fine, its just me that needs a Valium because I was a wreck. I guess I'm one of those mothers, maybe because my mom was but who knows.

In the picture on the top that is Lincoln on the left and Madison on the right. The picture on the bottom its Scott, Madison's Daddy, Madison, Reagan, Lincoln and then me.

Our friends from Alaska were here the other night and we had so much fun! The kids just played so well together and we laughed so hard about everything and nothing. It is my husbands best friend and I get along great with his wife. When the guys get together its like they have never been apart, its fun to watch and be around. Tim (my husband said that the Coolidge thing was dumb....so I will use his real name Tim) is going up to Alaska in July for their daughters baptism...he is the Godfather and he is very excited. We hope to make a family trip up next year. Hopefully they will be moving closer to us in a few years, we miss having close friends close by.
