He's gone

Well, I got up before the crack of dawn to take Tim to the airport for a business trip to NY, he will be gone until Friday evening. This is not the first time Tim has had to go out of town for business. When Lincoln was 3 months old he went NY for a week he left on mother's day and then a month later another trip to NY and he left on father's day. But this should be his last trip for a long time.

I have lots of things lined up for us to do and family/friends to eat dinner with while he is gone to keep us busy.

The nice weather has returned for now, but later in the week it is going to rain, it always rains.

Oh, and while Tim is gone I'm not going to drive my van because the gas prices are $3.25 a gallon. Tim drives a Toyota Prius and it gets like 50+ miles to the gallon, so I will be using that the whole time Tim is gone. I can't wait till they make the Honda odyssey in a hybrid.

The Weather

So, on Monday the temperature reached 70 degrees, it was wonderful!! And now the past 2 days have cool, and rainy. It is torture to be exposed to such nice weather, everyone wore shorts, we played outside, it was great. Now it is back to long pants, a light coat and wet grass.

I love summer, the sell of BBQ, evening walks with Reagan to get the wiggles out, long days spending more time with Tim, the smell of fresh cut grass, flowers, butterflies, and playing in the kiddie pool.

Come back warm weather, I miss you!!!

I'm back

We ate at Bubba's Diner in San Anselmo and it was really good. It was a flash back to the 50's, we ate at the counter. I had just a hamburger with jack cheese and a strawberry shake.
We had a great time in San Fransisco, we shopped, we ate, we stayed up and watched Grey's Anatomy and we want to do it again next year. It was so nice to be without the kids and husband's and not being hurried was just so much fun being with my Mom.

I'm outta here....

Tomorrow my Mom and I are going on a quick girls trip to San Fransisco. Tim is taking 2 days off work to be stay home with the kiddos while I have a little fun with my Mom.

I'm hoping to do a little shopping, eating some fun food, stay up late and sleep in. I haven't slept in past 8:00am in almost 2 years.

Reagan wants to go to the zoo and I keep telling her that sounds like a great idea, we will see what fun they have while I'm gone.

Not your Mom and Dads drive in......

We brought the buggies inside and they parked them in front of the TV to watch a movie and I couldn't resist taking this picture.

New Dr.......(updated at end)

So, our old doctor is retiring and its a bummer because we love him and finding a suitable replacement would be difficult. I asked around and found a young doctor who just started his practice 2 years ago and is accepting new patients. We got to see him and he is wonderful to say the least, he doesn't live far from us, he is not going to retire anytime soon. He and his wife just had a baby girl and guess what they named her.........Reagan just like our Reagan....its awesome!!

So I had a feeling that my allergy doctor wasn't treating me as best as he should. He kept asking me to do the allergy shots and when I said no, he started treating me differently. So, when I saw Dr. Awesome, he said that I was on the weakest allergy medicine for our area and was the least effective, he also said lets see what your allergic to and I said I don't want to do that crazy test on my arm and he said that they don't do that anymore....I was shocked because that is what my crazy allergy doctor wanted to do!!! So I said yes I want to know what I'm allergic to and its just a simple blood test. The Dr. called today and I'm only allergic to one thing.....can you guess....grass. Just plain old grass, so now I'm on Allegra and its been great so far.

My friend Julie sent me this article in the NY Times on testing for allergies.

Happy Belated Birthday Lincoln!

My brother Bill and sister-in-law Danielle are very close to our kids even though they live 3,000 miles away we are all still very close.

So, when we received Lincoln's birthday present on Wednesday, I didn't notice it until right before bedtime, and so we opened it up and well had a little fun. Lincoln loved his cool soft rubber fire truck that makes sounds.....its just that he and Reagan love the packing peanuts that his Aunt and Uncle sent him more. I will just post the picture's and you can see for yourself.

Oh and Uncle Billy and Auntie Danielle next time just send a box full of packing peanuts I'm almost certain they will love it more, but on the other hand you don't have to do that :)

Just to let you know it took the shop vac and then the regular vacuum to get all the peanuts cleaned up. Thank you Uncle Billy and Auntie Danielle for making the kids day, we truly had great fun!!!

Dry all night

So I haven't posted about this yet but Reagan will not go number 2 on the toilet, she will wait until bed time when we put a diaper on her then do her business. Well, 2 nights ago we told Reagan that tomorrow night she was going to wear panties to bed. So, last night we put panties on her and after she fell asleep I wanted to go back in and put a pull up on her but Tim said we hadn't let her go all night in panties in a long time.

I guess I should have said that we tried this about 4 or 5 months ago and it was well a nightmare. She was up until 11pm because she kept having to go to the bathroom, and she did go every time but we realized she wasn't ready yet. That is also how I figured out how to layer her bed with waterproof mattress pads and sheets so I only needed to pull off the wet sheet and pad and bam! there was a clean sheet already on the bed, it was a life saver in the middle of the night when I was dead tired.

So, I deferred to Tim last night and was actually waiting for Reagan to come into bed with us at some point letting us know she was wet. Well, when Tim went to work he went in and checked on her and guess what....she was dry!!! I told Tim he was right and I'm glad I gave Reagan the chance. So, at 6am when Reagan came into our room I asked her if she was wet and she said no mom, I'm dry, and again I was really surprised. So, we went to the bathroom and then she crawled into bed with me and I went back to sleep because Lincoln wasn't up yet, but Reagan wasn't going back to sleep so I told her she could go play quietly in her room.

I'm still very shocked that she was dry all night, now she just needs to go number 2 on the toilet....I mean she can't hold it in forever.....right?

Any suggestions would be great. Just so you know, first we told her that if she goes poopy on the toilet we would go to Disneyland (we already had planned the trip but we thought it would be good motivation, well she went poop on the toilet 2 days before we left but then it was nothing for months). Then we tried a special toy that sat on top of the fridge for 5 months, then she went on the toilet and she got it the toy. Then she went again on the toilet because I told her if she went poop on the toilet we would go to the local children's museum where we have a membership, and bam! she went but only a very tiny one but we went to the museum to celebrate. Now, it has been nothing since.

She eats an apple a day and is not constipated, so I think she holds it in for control, I mean she is 3 1/2 years old and has very little control over other areas of her life and maybe this is the one thing she can control?

Easter Bunny

Yesterday we went to a local mall looking for some essential Easter accessories, new white tights for Reagan and a bunny purse.

So while we were there we ran into the Easter bunny and got a picture. You might be wondering why the bunny isn't holding the kids, well Lincoln wouldn't get near the bunny so Reagan had to sit between them in order to get a decent picture. I'm still not sure if he was okay with it.

underwater basket weaving

So on the first Wednesday of the month I go to a local church that hosts for free a thing called Time Out For Mom's. They provide free childcare and for 2 hours we do a little project, go shopping, scrap booking, dessert making, you get the idea.

So this month we weaved baskets. Yes, I actually made a basket that is useful and it doesn't look horrible either, at least my mom will be proud of me! I learned that it is a wet processes because you need to keep the wood material wet so it won't break. It was actually a lot of fun. I was able to have adult conversation, have a snack, get a break from the kids, and I now have a basket that will find a home some place in our home.

So with out further ado here is my basket......
