Its late

I can't sleep.
Tomorrow we get bark dust and I can't wait, we haven't had new bark dust since we moved here, which was over 2 years ago. I love how the yard looks with new bark dust and I love the smell. I don't love spreading it, but it shouldn't take too long.

I watched the spelling bee contest tonight and I really wanted the remaining girl to win, she is so cute and full of life, she just has a sparkle about her.

Our neighbor had cancer surgery earlier this week and his daughter told me about it so Reagan and I made some bread and took it over to them last night. I really love all our neighbors, even the ones with teenagers and the ones who don't, the retired ones and young families just like us. We get along great with all of them and they are all so different, we look out for each other and that is what is important.

My celebrity look alike

Can I just say that Dakota Fanning is on there and I just love that girl, and Claudia Schiffer.

Field Trip

So, after I posted my first post we decided to go to OMSI.
This time I took the camera and got some really fun picture's of the kids. They are getting ready for this really cool exhibit called: BODY WORLDS 3: The Anatomical Exhibition of Real Human Bodies. Everything was out of place and under construction so we spent most of our time in the science playground and discovery lab.

We started at the water table.

Then moved on to the animal dens and nests of the northwest.

Reagan is a squirrel and Lincoln is in an Eagles nest.

Reagan is listening to the Ocean in the shell.

They played play doe

Then painted.

Then we played in the sand for a long time.

We buried Reagan.

Then before we left Reagan had to pet a boa constrictor.

We had a great time, we will do it again when the new exhibit opens up next week.

It worked

Last week I said I was going to call the doctor because I was still in pain, well.....something happened when I was sleeping Friday night and when I woke up Saturday morning....my pain was gone. The deep tissue massage worked, I was in pain for 2 solid days and then nothing the pain is gone. Today is the last day I'm taking the prednisone and I don't need the viccadin anymore.

We gave Tim his Father's day present last night because my Great-Aunt Patty died and her funeral is the day after Father's day in Kalispell, MT and the kids and I are going to go as well as my parents. Tim is going to stay home because he has to work. So, we gave him is present last night and he was very surprised. We got him the Canon 30D digital professional camera, it can take 5 frames per second, we had fun last night taking picture's of the kids, I will post later. I found the best deal at Costco.com if you were wondering. We have our old digital Canon Rebel if anyone is interested in buying it, if we can't sell it we will just keep it as a back up.

My Dad

My Dad's old squadron in the Air Force Reserves is being relocated and they are having a ceremony honoring all the past reservists. So, my Dad came over so I could take a couple head shots of him in our back yard. I think it turned out really good. I'm so proud of you Dad for serving in the reserves and retiring as a Chief Master Sargent.

Update on my back

My back isn't much better, I am going to call the doctor on Tuesday and get some physical therapy.

Tim was able to get off work a little early so we are going to see Shrek the Third in the theater...Reagan is so excited. She loves the theater, popcorn, soda, and candy, but we aren't getting all of those things. Tim just called and said it was $31 for the whole family, even Lincoln, he mentioned that he could have bought 2 DVDs, but we are making memories.

We have a lot of yard work planned for this weekend and decorating graves on Monday. Tim's dad, sister, uncle, and grandpa are all buried in a cemetery not far from our home. We cut flower's from our yard and combine them with store bought flowers to make the graves beautiful. We also have 2 rose bushes that are the Ronald Reagan rose and the Mister Lincoln rose, so we make sure put them in the mix as well.

Have a great Memorial day weekend!!!

OUCH!!....the kids, and trees

I hurt, oh my goodness, oh my goodness, the guy said it would hurt but man this hurts. I will give another update tomorrow but wow, I think I will need physical therapy.

Reagan and Lincoln had a dentist appointment a couple of weeks ago and I'm proud to say that both kids are cavity free. Both kids got there picture taken and it is put up on the wall, they get a special coin to get a toy out of a machine....they love their dentist.

Oh, and last year we had 4 trees planted in our back yard 2 jacquemontii birch, 1 red leaf maple and 1 flowering pear. Well, the 2 jacquemontii birch trees are actually paper birch, so sometime this next month the landscaper is coming back to plant the correct trees. We actually didn't know they were different except they started to droop and they had these seed pods on them, so me being the investigator I am, I went to the Internet and solved the mystery. We already have 3 jacquemontii birch trees that Tim and I planted when we first moved in so we did have something to compare them to.

This what the jacquemontii birch tree's looked like when we planted them 2 1/2 years ago.

This is what they look like today, plus another house has been built.

This is what the paper birch tree's look like today, they have been in the ground for about a year. They are the tree's on both sides of the flowering pear in the middle. Very droopy, they do have white bark like the jacquemontii's but it doesn't peal off like the jacquemontii's. Oh, and you can see hopefully the last house that will be built behind our home. If you look at this home do you notice something odd???.....there is a roof on top of the fake chimney.

Woops I did it again...(updated)

When I was cleaning out the office I hurt my back. I went to the doctor on Monday and she gave me some pain meds and some prednisone for the swelling. She then said to try massage envy because it was cheaper than a co-pay and physical therapy. So, today at 3:30pm I have an appointment with "Erich"...they said he is the best. I will let you know how it goes.

It was very good and "Erich" did a great job, it was a deep tissue massage so it hurt for part of it but in whole I feel great. Hopefully this will have done the trick.

We upgraded

So, a few weeks ago we went to a progressive dinner and at the first home our friends had just purchased a big screen TV and HDTV. We were having a great time the boys went up stairs to drool over the TV and the clarity of HDTV. So, on the drive to the second house Tim starts talking about HDTV and how cool it is and I'm a push over so we say lets at least look into it.

Over about 2 weeks I call our dish provider and we talk about prices and commitments, rebates and advantages. Today, not kidding at all Larry the dish guy shows up and hooks us up to this awesome world of clarity that I didn't even know existed, its like we have a whole new TV. We love the national geographic channel and discovery channel and they both come in HDTV along with our local channels in HDTV. We are hooked!

Mother's Day

Tim made pancakes for breakfast, which was great. Lincoln went to my mother-in-laws while we went to church....he isn't feeling too well. Then my parents took Reagan after church and Tim and I have had a nice afternoon just relaxing. Reagan gave me a pink flower bird house and Lincoln gave me a nice bird feeder and we have been watching the birds mostly yellow finches all afternoon.
The kids are back now and in an hour we will all be going out to dinner with my family and Tim's family, it should be a lot of fun.

Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful mother's in my life!!!!

One Hail of a Storm

We had this bazaar hail storm last week, it destroyed the inpatients I had planted a week before and took tons of leafs off the trees.
Here are the picture's of this 15 minute hail storm.

We found this awesome sale at the Disney Store and bought this Peter Pan costume for Reagan, so here is our very own Peter Pan.

I never thought I would be in People Magazine

So, while I was cleaning out the office/guest room I found the People Magazine I was in….yes you read that right, I was in People magazine back in October of 2006. I attended a fundraiser for Craig Schelske, he was running for congress back in 2001. A picture was taken and it was in our local paper.

Well, so fast forward 6 years, I’m in bed and the whole Sara Evans dancing with the stars, country music singer is getting a divorce to her husband Craig Schelske is everywhere. Its about 9:45pm, I’m in bed watching something when I get a phone call from my cousin Shelly who lives 4 hours away telling me that I’m in People Magazine, I tell her she is crazy and she said, no I’m not I went back to the store and bought the magazine and it is definitely you!”

So, what do you think I do that very next morning? I go to our local grocery store and I put the kids in the cart and grab the People and read it in the bakery department. I yelp when I got page 59, sure enough there I was, I said it out loud I couldn’t believe it and 3 other ladies heard me and said, what? I sheepishly told them and they where so excited, it was just weird. So, I when I checked out of the grocery store there were 7 copies of People Magazine in my cart….hey its not everyday your in People Magazine!

The October 30, 2006 issue, I'm on page 59 and Madonna is on page 60. Why couldn't it have been the most beautiful people issue….. that would have been awesome.

It's me about to shake Craig's hand in the lower right corner with Sara standing behind him.

Its done...

I took 6 bags of garbage to the dump last night and reycled 5 boxes full of mixed use paper. 3 of the bags of garbage was just shredded paper alone.

Young life kids came by and picked up:
  • 1 tv
  • 1 oak entertainment center
  • Tim's nintendo game cube he has played once since Reagan was born
  • 6 games, and 3 controllers
  • 2 side rails so the kids don't fall out of the bed
  • 1 end table
I added 2 tables that can fold up from Costco, and 1 scrapbook organizer that has wheels.

Everything has been sorted into boxes that then need further sorting or is in piles on the bed. We have at least 8 different kinds of electronic storage bags, 4 camera bags alone and we only own 3 camera's and only use 2.

Need to run, Tim comes home tomorrow...we miss him so MUCH!!

deep cleaning....(Updated)

So, while Tim has been gone I haven't done the dishes at all...I know they will get done today.

But what I have been doing is deep cleaning. I reorganized my dresser drawers, put away my larger clothes and my pre-pregnancy clothes because I'm not there yet, I'm at the inbetween clothes stage. I flipped the matress but I think I need to flip it back because I haven't been comfortable sleeping in the bed, it has been terrible....that or I just miss having Tim in bed with me....I've been freezing at night too.

I am also tackling the office/guest room, I shredding so much paper last night I was certain I was going to wake up the kids....but I didn't. (Updated....I killed the shredder...it only works in reverse and that doesn't do me any good. Its a good thing that we have two.) I'm also going to move the bed to a new location, so it is up against the wall and the room looks like a war zone but I have a system. The young life group in our town is having a huge garage sale to raise money for camp this summer and they will be coming this week to pick up a bunch of stuff from the office. I want to make a space in the office for my scrap booking, I need a place where I can leave it out and come back to it, right now I use the dinner table and that isn't working.

Reagan is having a sleep over at her Nana's house tonight which will be fun for her and give me a break as well. Lincoln and I will have a good time and after he goes to bed I will go to work in the office. I want to get it done before Tim comes home. Whenever I go out of town with my family and Tim can't go or like when I went to San Fran with my Mom, Tim does special things for me either planting flowers or doing things on the honey do list, so now that he is gone I want to do this for him.

Ciao for now.
