Family birthday party 4 Reagan later the same day

Reagan was so happy, she had a great day!

Cousins in the bounce house this time.

This picture is to show you how big this thing was,
we had know idea it was going to be so large.
We had such a great time with it.

We had another pinata, but it was a pull string type,
never seen that before.

We had a different cake for her family party,
its a castle in case you were wondering.
I also love how Lincoln is watching his big sister.

Reagan received $100 from her Nana B,
Tim says she wants to get a Nintendo wii.
But I don't think that is what Reagan has in mind for her money :)

Big day 4 Reagan

This picture says it all, she is 4 years old.

Reagan and her Cinderella cake.

We had a pinata, it was a big hit.

Hannah Montana CD was a big hit!!
Reagan loves Hannah Montana, she has only seen a couple of times....
but that was enough for her to fall in love with the pop diva!

The bounce house was a big hit with the kids and the parents.

Some of the Mom's bouncing around.

Good friends!

I am the cake master

It took around 4 hours to frost Miss Cinderella. The first 3 hours Lincoln was asleep so that helped out big time, the other hour was just finishing touches. At the bottom I will write Happy Birthday. Now we have her friends party at 10am and then the family party at 3pm, its going to be a busy busy day.

A couple of things on my mind

I went to the doctor on Monday because my allergies have really started to bother me and the Allegra wasn't cutting it. She gave me a steroid shot of something and it has helped tremendously.

For Reagan's birthday my Mom and I are going to make a Cinderella shape cake. My Mom has all the correct tips, food coloring, and bags.
We did a practice cake a few weeks ago
when Haley was here. Exhibit A:
The face above looks just weird, I need to use a smaller tip for the lips and the eyes, I think that was my main problem.

I need to clarify that the girls did most of the icing of Cinderella, I only did the face.

Below is what it should look like.
Wish me luck!

What's that smell??? Updated

Reagan has quite the collection of seashells from Delaware. We only have one small problem......some of the shells smell like fish. I have boiled them, brushed them, and then have left them out in the sun for 5 days so far. The still smell, anybody have any solutions to our little problem?

Thanks Julie, the bleach & water combination worked great!

Soda or Pop bottle recycling

If you say soda or pop that is not the discussion of today. I have pop bottle's coming out my ears in my garage and I do not have the time to return them and get the the money back. I don't care about the money, I just want them out of my garage. Does anyone have any solutions, I just can't throw them away, they are worth at least $20.
This is what I have tried:
  • Calling the high one ever called me back....this is free money people
  • Calling the church
  • Calling the local young life group
Since we have lived here the wrestling team came by and made a large haul from us and I was hoping they would return, but they haven't. I need to pray that a group of kids raising money will just show up at my door and I can unload the cans on them.

Ever since we flew back NY we have had nothing but humid weather. Tim said that the Northwest is never humid.....I think he jinxed us. Is that how you spell that word "jinked" also meaning cursed? I tried to look it but couldn't find any answers, so if anybody knows please fill me in.
Thanks Julie for the correct spelling of Jinxed, I should know things things since my Mom was an English teacher....I wasn't a very good student in that department.

I off to the doctor's this morning, my allergies are back at it again, hopefully there will be some relief in my future.

Also this week, we are getting ready for Reagan's friend birthday party Saturday morning with a rented bounce house, and her family party that afternoon. We decided to have 2 because she has so many friends that it was too much to have it as one big party. With in a 4 week span between July and August she has 4 friends having birthdays not including herself, so its a busy time for us.

This is our trip in picture's

We arrived late Tuesday night and left around noon on Wednesday, this is the sign on the belt parkway when you leave Brooklyn, NY.

After 6 hours of driving we finally made it to Fenwick, Delaware.
The condo we stayed in is the one on the very left.
Reagan and our cousin Lauren took us down on the dock just before sunset,
we saw crabs, fish, jellyfish, birds, and a rabbit.

The beach was right across the way and we had so
much fun just playing, digging, and splashing.

In the picture from the left is cousin Haley 5,
Tim's cousin Amanda 14, and Reagan almost 4.
Amanda was a lifesaver, she is so awesome with the kids,
I want to adopt her as Reagan's big sister

Reagan and I went to splash, it was fun.

Reagan and Mommy

Reagan collected so many shells, we brought them back to
decorate her bathroom and to make a necklace out of some of them.

Tim's other cousin Lauren, she is going to
India for 3 months for an internship.

Her little sister Hilary will be a senior in high school.

The condo had a large tub with jets and the
kids had lots of fun with the bubbles.

The beautiful sunset.

We went kayaking, I have blisters on both thumbs,
next time I need something with a motor

On our way back to long island......they slept most of the way.

Lincoln woke up just as the girls fell asleep.

Tim's cousin Michael and his wife Carol have a great pool in their backyard.
We stayed there for the remainder of our trip. Tim's Mom, Uncle, Amanda, Haley and her Mom Leah all flew back Sunday evening. We flew out Tuesday.

Monday Lauren took us into the city, we haven't been there since August of 2000.
Going to ground zero was sad, there were lots of picture's of what it will look like when finished.
I was hoping for some sort of map that showed where things use to be, it was hard to remember.
I'm very glad we went.

We went to American girl and forgot to take picture's.
We went to the M&M store, it has 3 levels and
was a lot of fun to see all the different things for sale.
Lincoln loves m&m's so the whole time he is saying nummy nummies.
Oh, and Reagan with the green m&m.

Our subway ride, Lincoln thought it was great.

Reagan liked holding onto the poll from the stroller,
I was a little disappointed at the lack of elevators
to accommodate strollers or wheel chairs.

Lincoln loved the big city and time square,
chocolate on his face from the m&m's.

The naked cowboy. Quite famous I hear.

This is our family right in the middle of time square.
Maybe next time we will do it without the kids.

New York New York

Tomorrow we are going into the city with Tim's cousin Lauren and the kids. We will first visit ground zero, then head up to Time square, American girl, and Rockefeller center. Reagan is very excited to visit the American Girl store and has already picked out the dolls she wants, yes she wants Molly and Emily....they are best friends.

I would post picture's but I don't have the right connection for my camera.

Tim's cousins have an in ground pool and we have been in and out of it all day, Reagan just loves it.

We fly home Tuesday morning so I will post picture's soon.

Its gettin hot in here

Tomorrow its going to be very hot, good thing we will be on an airplane headed outta here.

One of the best parts of this whole trip is that my cleaning is cleaning the house the day we get back, so we will come home to a freshly cleaned home, fresh linens, clean kitchen and vacuumed floors.

Of course seeing family is going to be great and we will make wonderful memories. We will see family we haven't seen since we were married almost 7 years ago.

Tomorrow is the big travel day, hope everything goes well and that we don't get kicked off the plane like this family did.

The muppets take manhattan....updated

Tuesday is the big travel day for us. We will be leaving the house just before 6am, pick up my Dad and then head to the airport(my Dad is going to drop us off and pick us up when we get back), we are headed to the big apple, beach house in Maryland, and a stay with family on Long Island....not necessarily all in that order.

This is the first time Lincoln will have his own seat and we are going to use his car seat, as you know he uses the britax marathon car seat and we have this really cool attachment called the go go babyz travelmate. It attaches to his car seat so we can roll it through the airport instead of schlepping it around. We used it with Reagan when we went to Hawaii a couple of years ago. It was great going through the airport, it was a little tricky securing the car seat with the go go babyz, we needed the seat belt extender from the flight attendant and it did put her close to the tray table, but we couldn't use that anyway with the car seat in the airplane.

Updated portion: I checked the manual again and it says that the travelmate should not be attached when you secure the car seat to the airplane seat....whoops. So now I'm wondering if it is worth it to attach the thing when we get to the airport, then right before we get on the plane I have to detach it and then after we land reattach it? I guess we will start out using it and if it just becomes to much of a problem then we will just gate check it.

This will be Reagan's second time flying without using her car seat, we are checking her new booster seat (they aren't safe for airplane use).

I have so many lists for this trip, like how many suitcases are we bringing, what will go in each suitcase, what clothes to bring for the kids, how many diapers will we need? What items to put in the carry on for Lincoln, Reagan has her own carry on. What movies to bring for the portable DVD player, we all can't sit in the same row on the plane so we will have to share. What medicine do we need to bring and do we have enough of our prescription meds for the trip. We are only bringing 1 stroller, it should do us just fine. We are bringing a small suitcase just for our shoes, swim diapers, Reagan's floaties and other misc. items.

I know we will forget something it always happens, I just hope its not something really important.

Like father like son

When we started the fireworks, fairly early about 8pm. Lincoln instantly was drawn to the fire, Reagan was way more cautious. Lincoln wanted to be right there with Daddy, they both love fire!

Reagan with Mommy and
Lincoln with Daddy.

Happy 4th of July!!!
