American's next top model - - - updated

Who is America's next top model you ask? ...........Haley our niece!!
She is the beautiful girl on the bed. She is Tim's brother's daughter. They are living in Hawaii for a couple of years while her Dad is in charge of building a hospital.

For fun her Mom submitted a photo to a local agent and she has been busy non stop. She has already done pottery barn kids, asics shoes, and an above ground pool company.

We are so proud of her!! She is also going to be in the pottery barn kids spring catalog.....can't wait to get the issue....any day now. Here is a link to the post I did when she stayed with us back in June.

Here is a link to the website where her picture is.

Pottery Barn Kids

~~updated~~
The magazine came today, she is on page 32 and its a much bigger picture. Hopefully we will see more of her in the next catalog too. Way to go Haley!!

The funeral

Today we buried Tim's uncle and it was an amazing service. I learned that Tim is a lot like his uncle, they look alike, they both love music and can name a song and artist by just a couple of lyrics, and they both love making people laugh.

It was a hard day, beautiful at times, and sad at others and at other times there were no words. It snowed on and off all day with bright burst of sun in between, it was like no other day....very rare for our area in late March.

Tim's cousin Michael flew from NY to be here for the funeral and it was so nice having him here with us. We hope to see him and the rest of his family soon.

Tribute Movie

Our friend Scott helped me make this movie for Tim's Uncle Dave, it will be played at his funeral on Saturday. He has a Mac and I'm now convinced more than ever that we are going to get one in the near future.

Night night

Our friend Scott is here for a couple of days with his two beautiful kids.
Madison, Reagan and Lincoln all played hard today....before and after nap.
We had a great dinner...I cooked Italian Baked Chicken and Pastina
Recipe courtesy Giada De Laurentiis .
I used different noodles but it still tastes so good!

I gave the kids a bath and after the kids got into their pj's we put them in our big bed while Scott put baby Max down. Madison didn't want Daddy to leave so we put on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and all the kids were fixed on the boob tube.
Tomorrow we are off to the indoor play park to wear them out before the afternoon nap.

Dream Home

Tim and Reagan built a Lego dream home our friends Scott & Shana. Complete with a lego helicopter that lands on the the garage.

Shana is a helicopter pilot in the coast guard. Oh, the things we can build with Lego's......

Easter egg hunt in the yard

Mom, Grandma (GG) and my cousin Jerome helping the kids find all the eggs.

Lincoln wouldn't pick them up because they were kinda slimy, so he would find them and they yell eagg, eagg....very cute!!

Start the morning off right, eat a bunch of chocolate candy!!

Polly pocket for Reagan and some cute girly Lego's. Lincoln also got the younger version of Lego's called duplo and the Easter bunny left Tim some Lego's too.

This look below is very famous in our home, it comes from Tim's Dad.

my google 401k

So, I have made $2.79 in 6 days.
Lets do the math: 2.79*52 (just so its easier we will say I made that in 1 week, so the 52 is for the 52 weeks in a year) = $145.49
I was pretty close, saying that it will take me a whole year to earn that $100.
For fun lets say that I save every penny and put it into a savings account for 35 years. We will have a 2.00% rate of return.
It would be around $7,700 when I turn 66 years old.
Its a really good thing that this isn't really my retirement account!!

For those of you that don't know I added 3 ads to my site in hopes of making a little bit of money...the focus being little.

The funeral- - - updated

It looks like the funeral will be after spring break, I think on April 1st. He almost died 9 years ago, and he was in a coma and on day 10 of his coma, Tim and I went to visit him and Tim told him a Tim Allen joke and he smiled and tried to laugh. It was a miracle, and we were able to have 9 more years with him that we almost didn't get. His daughter was 6 years old at the time and she was able to have 9 more years with her Dad....they were so close.

I'm going to make a DVD for the funeral with Tim's help because he can't really sit at the computer. He tells me its not that hard and I'm sure I will be able to figure it out. Our friend Scott and his kids are coming sometime next week and he might be able to help with the DVD because he and Tim are both kinda nerdy like that......in a good way!

Well it looks like the funeral will be March 29th with a memorial on April 1st.

Tim's Uncle Dave

We just found out late yesterday that Tim's Uncle Dave died very unexpectedly. He was only 54, he is Tim's Mom's younger brother. She has now buried both of her younger brothers, her other brother John died of cancer when he was 24 years old. Dave was an excellent Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Uncle and Friend. I will be helping with the funeral so things might be a little slow around here.

My Retirement Fund

So, that little thing off to the side called "My Retirement Fund" is something I'm trying out. I really do have a retirement fund, so don't think this is it, I just didn't know what to title it.

I can't ask you to click on it, but some how I get paid when people visit my blog and if they click on one of the ads then it's really good.

I'm still not entirely sure how it works but apparently when I have made $100 they will send me a check.

So, far I have made nothing but its only been a couple of hours, I will keep you updated, but truth be told I bet it will take the whole year to earn $100.

Its not easy being green....unless you are me!!

My friend Kristin over at My Life at Home, has this up on her blog, and I decided to do it too. We are both green....which is not a big surprise if you ask me.

You Are a Green Crayon

Your world is colored in harmonious, peaceful, natural colors.

While some may associate green with money, you are one of the least materialistic people around.

Comfort is important to you. You like to feel as relaxed as possible - and you try to make others feel at ease.

You're very happy with who you are, and it certainly shows!

Your color wheel opposite is red. Every time you feel grounded, a red person does their best to shake you.

Why is it?

Why is it that when Reagan has a play-date at someone else's home and I have a great opportunity to get something done around the house that would be difficult if she was here...and I don't. That all I really want to do is nap or fold clothes and watch tv.

I could:
Put in the new sink fixture's in the downstairs bathroom.
Finish Reagan's reward chart.
Clean the office.
Plant flowers if I had them to plant.

I think I will just make meatballs for the spaghetti dinner for tonight. Surf the net and do laundry/fold clothes and watch tv. I feel like such a lazy slug.

Oh, and I did buy Zicam but not the one that goes in your nose....I heard someone lost their sense of smell and I'm not taking that risk. I got the rapid melts w/ vitamin c, kinda gross but my symptoms have not gotten any worse and are slightly improving....so the jury is still out on this one. I think they give me a headache so that is a downside so far.

Day 6 - - - doing better

Tim is doing much better, came down last night to play with the kids for a bit and is downstairs today reading a book and playing Polly pockets with Reagan.

Both kids are doing great, our cleaning lady Sally came today........that was so nice!!!!

I feel like I'm getting a cold and am on top of the vitamins and airborne. I thought about taking zicam but am unsure about possible side effects.

Tim goes back to work Thursday and I'm going to my bible study and am so excited because the kids are healthy enough to go and that means I can have time with my friends without kids!!!!

I think I might try to take a nap today, we will see how that goes.

Day 3

Tim is doing better, he does better when he moves less.

Lincoln is still coughing and coughing but no fever so that's good.

Reagan is doing great, tonight she is at my parents house and will go to church with them in the morning.

Our friends brought us a delicious dinner and it was perfect.

I'm tired, and I'm watching knocked up and so far I'm not too impressed.

Don't forget to set your clock back.

Update day 2

Tim had a doctor's appointment today for a dressing change. They changed the dressing and I was able to see the scare, little bleeding which is great. They also took an x-ray and I was just amazed at how different his foot looks, it wasn't a subtle change in the bone like I thought. Hopefully after he heals and we don't need to use the very cool handicap sticker anymore we can start walking like we use to. Tim's next appointment is on the 17th to remove the stitches and get a shoe cast thing. He can return to work Thursday I think. He is in a lot more pain today because he had to go to the doctor, they told us we could double is Demerol, but it really didn't help with the pain...he tried the darvocet but it didn't help....so he is going back to the Demerol. We are still icing and he is also using a tens unit, it sends an electrical impulse to the foot to encourage blood flow and healing, it also helps with the pain. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day for him.

Lincoln has been sleeping a lot, he took a 3 hour and 45 min nap today and slept over 12 hours last night. I'm pretty sure its his body healing, but he still has a horrible cough.

Reagan spent last night with her Nana Sue & Papa Kim they told scary stories and "and then" stories, went shopping and just had fun. Tonight she is staying with her Grammy Pammy and having a slumber, making cookies, watching movies, playing barbies and polly pockets. You should see what she packs, a suit case, her doll Suzy, Suzy's suit case, her tackle box of polly pockets, and purse with her a camera.....all for 1 night.

Profound!!

If life isn't hectic enough for us right now, I had a doctor's appointment to adjust my back because well I have a lot of stress.

I told him that I think my neck is hurting because I'm growing my hair out to donate. He looked at me and said, no that's not it, when you get out of the shower I bet you throw your hair over your head and wrap it in a towel. I looked at him and was just stunned, yes I told him, and he went on to tell me that I'm giving myself whiplash every time I do that.

I just couldn't believe what I was hearing, why hadn't I heard that before?
Why hadn't I read that in one of my mommy magazines?

He then went on to adjust me and I'm feeling much better.

So, no more flipping my wet head into a towel!! Never again!!

We are home

Tim's surgery on his foot went just as planned and he is now upstairs playing the wii between naps. Yesterday I decided to make him a foot pillow, bought 4 & 5 inch foam and some fabric for a cover, and I did it.....I don't sew very often so I'm glad it turned out.

Reagan now has an ear infection and my Mom is taking her to the doctor at 1pm.

Praise God that we are all home and are getting better, and praise God we have health insurance to cover my sick family!!

Pneumonia - - - -updated

Oh sweet little Lincoln has pneumonia. Went to see the doc and she couldn't find anything obvious so she ordered a chest x-ray.
If any of your children have ever needed to have a chest x-ray and they are under the age of 3 then they have to be put into a device. Its a horrible looking right out of the stone age.
Reagan had pneumonia when she was 2 so I remember.
Its a clear plastic tube looking thing and there hands are above them and its not a pretty site. I had to wait behind the protection wall and cried as Lincoln was screaming for me....horrible!!! But the technology side of it was cool, his film came up before she was done taking the second x-ray and I could see right away that he had pneumonia....I'm not a doctor and I could see all the white spots on his right lung that aren't suppose to be there.
He still has a high fever but hopefully the antibiotics will kick in and he will start feeling better soon.
Please pray for us, Tim has surgery on Thursday and I'm not sure how this is all going to work out. We do have a lot of family support, its just coordinating it all.

Update
Lincoln's temp went up to 104 degrees and only came down after another round of motrin and the antibiotics that were prescribed. Can I tell you that I hate it when my kids are sick, I'm sure no mom/dad likes it when their kids are sick but when they are really sick its like my brain stops working. That or my brain is on overdrive trying to get my child to eat or drink something, and trying not to worry about what could happen. Its like I can't do the simplest task of laundry or talking on the phone, I start things but don't finish. Lincoln is doing much better and went right to sleep and he hasn't been coughing very much.

Tim's surgery got moved up to 8am which means we have to be there at 7am which means we have to leave the house at 6:30am and Grammy Pammy has to get here much earlier. I know people read this blog and your prayers are much appreciated, even if you don't comment I can feel your prayers!!

fever

Lincoln spiked a fever tonight 102 degrees, we are headed to the doctor's in the morning. He still has a horrible cough and a runny nose, he wouldn't eat, play, or smile....only Diego in Mommy & Daddy's bed.
