The week ahead

I'm back from North Carolina and had a really nice time with my brother, his wife and their new baby Liam. I even got to babysit while they went to see Star Trek, go see it...its a great movie. I forgot my camera and took a cute little video of Liam on my phone but can't figure out how to send it to You Tube because my phone is tarded. When I played it for Liam he stopped sucking on his pacifier and watched very was funny.
Tim told me tonight that he doesn't want to go back to work, and that he has had such a good time staying home with the kids. I asked him if I should go back to work for him, but he seems to think that his boss might notice that I wasn't Tim.

But I have big plans for us this week. Sorry for the list but it needs to be done.

  • Rent a mulcher and mulch those janky bark chips under the play structure because they are horrible.
  • Finish moving the tulip bulbs to there new home......they need more sun.
  • Plant cucumber seeds.
  • Buy and plant tomatoes, lettuce, chives, basil, oregano, & cilantro starts. If I can find all of those. The ones I had planted from seeds died while I was in N.C., I'm not upset, I don't think they were going to make it anyway.
  • Go to the grocery store.
  • Go to big university hospital on Friday for 1st Dr. appointment with fancy female Italian reproductive endocrinologist (RE)....we will call her Dr. Italian or Dr. Fancy, I guess after we meet her I will have a better idea of what to name her.
  • But first I will get the sliver out that is stuck in between my big toe and pointer toe because it really hurts.
Post picture's soon.

I'm headed out of town...well actually across the country to North Carolina to be exact. I'm going to visit the newest member of the Shannon family and his parents, aka nephew Liam, brother Bill and sister in love Danielle.

I will be back Saturday morning. The ticket from the west coast to N.C. was only $219 round trip....can you believe that??? Tim is taking the rest of the week off and the kids are very excited about that. I'm also actually very giddy about traveling without the kids. You know, going through security with just my stuff, no extra bags, strollers, babies, blankets, little shoes to take on and off, no sippy cup to have inspected. I think traveling might actually be relaxing this time, but I'm sure I've now jinked myself.

Military Baby Quilts w/ pics

Dakota, Chloe and Madeline were all born while their Daddies are serving our country in Iraq. My good friend Kristin is having a baby shower for these deserving Mom's and so I offered to make baby girl quilts. I cut over 500 3 inch squares for this little project and truthfully I'm not sure I will be working with such small squares again.

You might have a hard time seeing it, but each quilt has this fabric. It says, "Daddy's little sweetheart!" I thought that was especially nice since their Daddies aren't here.

This is Dakota's quilt, it is the first one I made and was the hardest. You can't really tell but there is a pattern. Its a type of design that is called a step pattern, and its the easiest form of creating Celtic art. If I do it again it will be with just two colors.

The back of Dakota's quilt. Its a soft minky fabric with hearts.

Chloe's quilt is my own design and its basically just alternating a pink fabric with a cream fabric. I was running short on squares so I used a pink minky fabric for the center and it is just so soft.
The quilt fabric is all flannel, so it will be nice and soft for the girls.

Madeline's quilt was the last one. Because I was running out of fabric and time, I sewed 4 pieces of the same fabric together to make 1 square and then sewed those together and made a pattern with what I had left. I did have to run to the fabric store but they didn't have the fabric I wanted. I still think it turned out great.

I made a little card for each quilt and this is what it said.

Made for Dakota
By Christy with Love
machine was cold gentle cycle

When I was making these quilts, I would pray for each girl,
her family and for her Daddy's safe return.
I hope they comfort little toes and hearts for years to come.
God Bless you and thank you for the sacrifices you
have made so your husband can serve our country.

hidden coupon locations

Old Navy Coupons

Click on the link and look for the hidden coupons. The site has already updated. Some coupons are $75 off $100 purchase and some are 10% off your entire purchase. You only get 1 coupon per week. The big ones are in limited supply and they are hidden pretty good.

$60 off $100 - take the bucket in the middle square (w/two little boys)--bring it over to the pool (far right picture) and it will move showing it's filling up--once it's done that, then bring it to the picture w/the people wearing goggles and drop it there, it will fill the screen with water. You have to keep doing those steps --filling it w/water in the pool, then dropping it in the picture until it fills up the whole picture and then you'll have the $60 off.

$45 off $100 - The girl with the purple dress (on far right) has a bottle of suntan spray. Take it and spray the girl with the blue bikini (in picture on the top left w/3 girls in swimsuits)--you'll have to do it twice to spray her whole body.

$20 off $100 - Click on the orange/white striped tote (at the bottom) -move it to the girl with the purple dress and put it on her arm (just above her hand, on the right side)

$15 off $75 - In the video, at 7-8 seconds in, click on the orange sign (says Old Navy Flip Flops $1) --it does look like different people are finding it in different places--sometimes it moves around to different locations.

$10 off $50 - Middle picture with the two boys--the older boy's head is in the sand--move it onto his head

$5 off $50 - Click on the orange bottle of the girl with green swimsuit (top picture w/3 girls in swimsuits)

Good luck my friends!!

The big guns

My last round with clomid was a joke. Let me tell you how clomid works. It tricks your body into ovulating by suppressing a certain hormone and then your body goes "oh no, we better pop out an egg because were a quart low." I guess in my maturing age of 32 my body cannot be fooled, it says been there done that and bought the t-shirt twice.

So in June we are seeing a specialist at the big University hospital.

I'm almost done sewing the 3 military baby girl quilts and will post picture's soon. Plus, picture's from when my brother was here with there new baby Liam and picture's from when our friends Scott & Shana where here. We have been busy.

Free Picture

Last November our Church decided to make new directories with family picture's in them. The last time the church did this I was 14 years old, so it was about time. The incentive the church gave was, "let us take your picture and we will give you a free 8 x 10." We would have done it anyway but since it was free....why not.

Here is the one I chose, it was by far the best of all four of us. I have to say that I love it! I love how both the kids look and how Reagan looks so much like her Daddy, and how Lincoln's head is tilted just like mine, I love the whole thing, I really do.
