Family Fun Weekend

We rented our friends townhouse at a nice resort last weekend. Tim's Mom, my brother in law Todd, sister in love Leah and their daughter Haley all went as well. After much driving we arrived and quickly got out the bikes. Our friends told us that they have a little scooter in the back and I was thinking something like a razor but nothing like what we found.

Uncle Bubbha aka Todd, went and got it and I wasn't sure if it was for the kids or the adults. We read the warning or caution instructions and found that it was for the adults or kids over 12 years old. Since none of the kids were over 12 they got to look and touch and sit on it but not ride it.

When it was my turn I was surprised at how fun it was, but as soon as I got off, I quickly felt my age.

Here is Auntie Leah's turn.

We even got Nana Sue on the little scooter thing.

After fun on the bikes, unpacking, finding lizards and frogs we headed to the pool. Uncle Bubbha and Auntie Leah went and got some yummy pizza while I swam with the kids and Nana Sue took picture's. Tim had to work on Friday so he didn't arrive until just before bedtime.

Saturday we rented a bike with a seat on the back for Lincoln, that is the picture from a couple of days ago. He LOVED it and I think we will be looking for one of those seats soon. After riding bikes all morning we went shopping and found a children's museum in the shopping area....very smart idea.

Lincoln my little shopper always checking the weight of the produce...I think its broccoli.

Here the kids are playing vet, and notice what kind of dog they are treating?? That's right, a bulldog.

Look at this picture of Haley, climbing the rock wall in flip flops. This girl has some talent.

Here is Reagan trying her hand at white water canoeing, I think that is what its called?

And finally Lincoln in the canoe, but he can't be bothered with a helmet or life jacket, he's not really one for accessories.

We had such a great time and can't wait to go back again soon. When we left to go home Lincoln asked when we were going back to the house and I said we will be home soon and he said no, the house. I realized he was talking about the townhouse, Lincoln never says that, because he loves home so much, that should give you an idea of how much fun we had and how comfortable the home was.

Teddy

My Grammie gave this to me about 10 years ago and when we moved I couldn't find it until last week. It is a famous book called "When we were very young" by A.A. Milne. It's not a first edition but 74th edition printed in Sept, 1926. If you aren't familiar with the author let me give you a hint. All of his poems were inspired by Christopher Bobin, I mean Christopher Robin.

This is the poem called Teddy Bear, but the bear in the picture may look and act like Winnie the Pooh, however his name is actually Mr. Edward Bear.

My Grammie grew up on the East Coast, I don't know if this place even still exists but its fun to have this book back on the bookshelf where is belongs.

I'm sorry

I'm sorry for talking about Jon & Kate + 8, but I just need to get something off my chest.
I remember as a kid we learned in school about the Dionne quintuplets born in Canada and how they were put on display by the government to make money in "quintland". Now I know it was the depression and money was tight but it was wrong on so many different levels.

I see no difference in what Jon & Kate are doing to their children. They are making money off the kids and now they are ending their marriage but will continue taping as we watch these little ones lives fall apart. It makes me sick just thinking about it. I use to watch them and record them on my DVR but will not anymore. I just can't watch anymore and watch these little kids suffer, its just not right.

Friday

This is pretty much how Friday went. In this order.

  • Reagan's temp is rising.
  • We eat breakfast except Reagan.
  • We snuggle on the couch all morning.
  • We go upstairs so I can shower and get ready for her 2pm Dr. apt.
  • Get out of shower, Reagan's temp is 104.
  • Give her Motrin to help bring it down.
  • Reagan gets bloody nose.
  • Lincoln is in skivvies and had multiple accidents all morning (everyone know what skivvies are....right?)
  • Lincoln is sitting on the little potty .
  • Reagan's nose won't stop bleeding.
  • I'm running around trying to get all necessary supplies to stop the blood.
  • Our bedspread now has blood on it, as does the blanket below.
  • Lincoln asks for his trademark "sour milk" which is carnation instant breakfast, I look around and see a sippy cup and hand it to him.
  • Run back to Reagan and things have stopped which is excellent.
  • Trying to finish getting ready when Lincoln asks so politely, can I please have a fresh "sour milk" Look of horror goes across my face because I realize that I have actually given him real sour milk and its chunky...gross.
  • I freak out, grab a towel and tell him that if he is going to choke (which is code for puke) to choke on the towel and he says, okay Mom.
  • I run downstairs, get water, crackers and fresh "sour milk" and run back up stairs.
  • Run back downstairs with bedspread and blanket to put stain remover on it before we have to leave.
  • Get the kids dressed and out the door to Reagan's Dr. apt.
  • Doctor looks her over and listens to her chest for a long time and says that she has pneumonia.
  • He checks Lincoln for good measure and he is okay no pneumonia.
  • Go to pharmacy for z-pack for kids and have to wait an hour.
  • Kids fall asleep and I get to read the paper and listen to Dr. Laura in quiet...not bad.
  • Get home, get dinner and Rx in Reagan and she seems to be doing a lot better.
  • Start making Reagan a friendship bracelet to help cheer her up.....it works.
  • Tim gets home and I let him know about a girls night with some of my neighbors and he says go.
  • I get to go out to dinner with some of my closest girlfriends, and then we went and bought little ice creams and went to one of my friend's parents house who is out of town and had girl talk till almost 10pm....it felt wonderful!!

Lincoln's prayers

Lincoln prayed tonight that he would be a kid forever, that tree's wouldn't break anymore, and that mean people would die. I asked him if we could instead pray that God would save all the mean people and he agreed to amend his original prayer....Love that boy!!

Train Park

About an hour from our house is a train park that is run by all volunteers and runs on donations alone. We were there for about 2 hours and went on the two trains 5 times, oh what fun we had.
These are mini trains with gas motors and they also have mini steam trains. They have bridges, ponds, a picnic area for birthday parties and a small gift shop with snacks.

Me & Lincoln.

Reagan, Haley and Nana Sue.

Nana, me, and Lincoln.

Here is a better look at the long train with the engineer in front....we had so much fun!!

Lost Mother's Day Picture's

Just found the lost camera with the Mother's day picture's, glad we didn't loose them for good!

We Drove like 5 plus hours to Spokane, WA for my Cousin Marcela's graduation from Gonzaga. My brother and his wife, who aren't pictured were also there. Below is their son Liam with Reagan. He is such a good baby.

Marcela on the big screen getting her diploma from some special dude. So proud of her!!

It was Mother's day weekend, and we heard that down by the river were some pretty cool rapids and a giant red wagon. The rapids were amazing, I have never been that close to water moving that fast in my entire life, it was breath taking!

I told you, a giant red wagon, the kids had a great time!

Lincoln by the giant wheels for the giant red wagon.

Tim with the kids at the lower falls, it was something that I will not forget. We had a great time, and it was a perfect Mother's day!

This is my second day taking it and so far all I want to do is sleep and go to the bathroom, I have no energy and hope my body adjust soon. I feel like I am going to puke at any moment. Must go for now.

Dr. Appointment

We went to the doctor's appointment and met our nurse Tara and our Doctor. I really liked our doctor, she speaks Italian but is from America and is easy going and nice. I think I will just call her Dr. Nice. Anyway, she is almost 100% positive that I have polycystic ovarian syndrome you can read all about it over at WebMD. Dr. Nice put me on a drug called Metformin because when you have PCOS you are most likely insulin resistant at some level.

I took my first dose of Met tonight and I can already start to feel the side effects, my gut sounds like I'm percolating coffee. I will be taking this for a month and every week I will be increasing the dose to eventually be taking 2 pills at breakfast and 2 pills at dinner.

Next month I go on clomid while still taking the Met and an ultrasound on cd 13 to see if I'm going to ovulate. I also found out that ovulation predictor kits don't work when you have PCOS, and that is why I couldn't get any results these past months. They took my blood and will have official results by the end of next week, they are testing for all sorts of things.

Overall I feel good about Dr. Nice and the plan we have. But above all its in God's hands and I know that when and if we do get pregnant again it will be in His timing and I am at peace knowing that.

nervous

I'm nervous about going to the RE tomorrow. I don't know what to expect. I know its the first consultation and there probably won't be any tests, just going over my file and setting up other appointments....but still I'm nervous. My mother-in-law is coming in the morning to be with the kids, then my mother is coming in the afternoon to be with the kids, and the house isn't up to par...but it will have to do.

I've been so busy with the washing machine, traveling to N. Carolina, Reagan's t-ball, and planting the garden this week that I haven't had a lot of time to focus on tomorrow's appointment. I think subconsciously I planned it that way, so that I wouldn't stress myself out about it.

This evening we had an incredibly thunder & lighting storm that for a short time there was a tornado warning....it was crazy....I love that kind of stuff.

Update & the Big news

The only thing left to do on my list is go see the doc at big university hospital & move the rest of the tulips.

  • Rent a mulcher and mulch those janky bark chips under the play structure because they are horrible. Can't find a mulcher to rent, I guess most places don't rent them anymore, so into the yard debris can they go.
  • Finish moving the tulip bulbs to there new home......they need more sun.
  • Plant cucumber seeds. Planted
  • Buy and plant tomatoes, lettuce, chives, basil, oregano, & cilantro starts. If I can find all of those. The ones I had planted from seeds died while I was in N.C., I'm not upset, I don't think they were going to make it anyway. Got them all except lettuce.
  • Go to the grocery store. Was able to make a small run, but will have to go again soon.
  • Go to big university hospital on Friday for 1st Dr. appointment with fancy female Italian reproductive endocrinologist (RE)....we will call her Dr. Italian or Dr. Fancy, I guess after we meet her I will have a better idea of what to name her.
  • But first I will get the sliver out that is stuck in between my big toe and pointer toe because it really hurts. Got it out and it didn't even hurt.
Big news
I called Maytag today to find out where my part is and was quickly sent to some executive office and told them my history and when she called me back she told me that they would replace my machine and would pay 50% for a new Maytag or Whirlpool washer. I guess the part we have been waiting on isn't even made, even though they have been telling me that its in the factory being made as we speak and will be overnight expressed to me.....LIARS!!!

I have found the replacement washer its WTW5300VW, it does what we need it to do and I'm not willing to spend more money on a fancy machine that is too expensive to fix. Plus, if I wanted a fancy machine then I wouldn't buy Maytag or Whirlpool. So, tomorrow I am going to try and negotiate a better percentage rate than what they originally quoted me, which is 50%. I have been without a working washer for 2.5 months and have spent over $100 at the laundromat and think they can pony up more than 50%. Right now our final price would be $264.50 and I would like to see it closer to $200 or below. After that and hopefully we can agree then in about 7 to 10 business days the beauty below should be delivered to our door and this whole issue will be a non issue and I won't ever talk about it again because too much time has already been spent on it.
